At Cherubin’s, we recognise that every child is individual and has varying needs and abilities, we plan every child’s day to make it fun and educational. All activities are carefully planned and are prepared and appropriate for each individual child’s age and stage of development. These planned activities will support and develop the holistic development of your child/ren. Our staff will use their expertise to integrate the foundation stage curriculum and the birth to 3 matters to plan a healthy, stimulating environment for your child/ren.

Special Needs
We recognise that every child is individual and has varying needs and abilities, we therefore operate an inclusion environment to meet children’s needs. All children will be encouraged to take part in our activities. We have a designated Special Needs Co-ordinator who is fully qualified with experience of children with a number of health and educational needs.

Babies (0-3)
Activities in our Baby Rooms are based upon a child’s first experience of the world, we will provide a wide range of activities, sensory equipment and different natural textures and materials that will stimulate and encourage their development.

Pre-School (3-5)
We believe that children initiate their own learning through play. The staff will be using the six areas of the foundation stage. To observe plan and extend your child/ren development, these are the areas as follows:

Children between 3 and 5 years will be working towards the ‘Early Learning goals’ as part of the Foundation Stage curriculum, these include:

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Communication, language and literacy
  • Mathematical development
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world
  • Physical development
  • Creative development
The curriculum is very much about parents/carers sharing information about your child’s likes and dislikes. We encourage all parents/carers to play a big part of planning a curriculum that will empower your child to reach their own individual development.
